I have been transgendered for as long as I can remember.

That is to say, I have had a profound and apparently irresistible feeling that although my body is male I am somehow really female.

For years I tried to suppress that feeling; now I try to accept and embrace it.

It's a profound blessing, and a profound curse.

For better or ill, it has shaped my life.

I have been offered the opportunity to go for Sexual Reassignment Surgery and a major preoccupation right now is to figure out whether or not to go for it...
