THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO
JESUS QUEEN OF HEAVEN
at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe
A candlelit, peaceful, meditative end to a hard day on the Fringe.
The archbishop of Glasgow called this vision of a transgendered Jesus 'an affront to the Christian faith'. He never saw it. Listen to those who did:
'Queen Jesus reminds us of the purity of sex and pleasure, the importance of empathy. We hold hands, and remember what it means not to be alone'. Jo Clifford's revolutionary and spiritual work reaches the Fringe for the first time since its explosive and controversial 2009 opening. It promises to be very special.
Jo is performing her "Gospel According To Jesus Queen Of Heaven" in ArtSpace @ St Marks at 10.30 pm, Tuesday to Saturday, Aug 5-9, 12-16 & 19-23. Tickets on sale soon.
She is also performing with Rally and Broad (23rd May); Sunday Assembly (25th May); and Jo Caulfield's Speakeasy (10th June)
She has been working with Chris Goode to devise a new show about being transgendered.
Her monologue was part of the acclaimed NTS "Dear Scotland..." show at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
She is one of the contributors to Neil Bartlett's "Letter To An Unknown Soldier" project.
Her new play "White Ted And The Right To Die" will be performed by MA students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in late August.
Her West End production of "Great Expectations" is available on DVD and as a download.
She is such a proud Grandma!
